Heading to Dresden

So Tyna gave me as a "surprise to me" bus trip to Dresden. Little didi know that's where all the major outlet stores are (pretty sure her motives were solely based on this fact). Either way, the Trip was amazing and we got some really cool pictures of the historical parts of the town. We ended up in a place called Primark. It's like a supersized Walmart clothing section(3 stories tall). Everything is like 20 euros or less. I'm not sure if this stuff is made in African sweatshops but it seems very good quality and is relatively inexpensive.

The Journey Begins

Our bus trip started early in the morning as the trip was only to cover a 24 hour period. So we met the bus driver at the main Prague rail station and he introduced us to the little old lady that was our tour guide for the day. Just so you know it is much cheaper to get a Czech tour guide and have Tyna translate than it is to get an English speaking tour guide. So the bus left Prague around 7 in the morning.

This guy drove the Tour bus like a racecar.

The way from Prague to Dresden was full of beautiful scenery and rolling hills

The Bus ride was wonderful, we got to see some of the more mountainous areas of the country that I had not seen yet. the terrain can be described as low rolling hills with the occasional larger hill that dominates the surrounding area.  As we got closer to Germany though I could start to see the beginnings of the Ore mountains.

When we first arrived in Dresden It was Cold and overcast. We got off the bus and entered the Dresden Central station. From here you can walk into the connected outdoor shopping mall that connects to most of the historical parts of Dresden. This is also where Primark is located. Along the way is high-end shopping and movie theaters.

Interesting side note here..... Do not go here during election time if you are a red-blooded commie hating American.... they still have the communist party here and they do actively advertise it here. They have guys passing out flyers and men holding up posters touting the greatness of communism. I had to ask myself "If I punch one of the communist bastards, so they chalk it up to animal instinct?". I mean we don't punish dogs for chasing cats...

The Autumn market is a great place to find hot wine and good beer.
It may be slightly overpriced but it still very good.

Had to grab some German sausages and a pint of German Dunkle

Overall Dresden was a wonderful place, even though we were there when it was cold and rainy it was still a lot of fun. If I was to go back I would go to the contemporary art museum the Albertinum.
